Age is just a number when it comes to style: why you should feel confident wearing whatever you want.

Style is a personal expression of yourself. It can be subtle or bold, classic or trendy. And regardless of age, style is something that evolves with time and experiences. As a woman who’s 50 plus, I’ve often been asked if I should still be wearing cropped shorts and bikinis on the beach. To that, I confidently say YES!

To me, age is just a number, and it should never define what we wear or how we present ourselves to the world. Society may have certain expectations of how older women should dress, but I refuse to conform to any such limiting stereotypes. I believe that we should wear what makes us feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I’ll wear my cropped shorts and bikinis on the beach, not because I’m trying to make a statement, but simply because I feel good in them. It’s all about choosing clothes that make you happy, whether they’re in style or not, whether they’re considered age-appropriate or not. Fashion should be fun, not restrictive, and there is no rulebook that mandates what we can or cannot wear based on our age.

Whether you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, or beyond, you can still rock any style you desire. From trendy and edgy to classic and timeless, there is no “right” way to dress at any age.

In fact, some of the most stylish and inspiring fashion icons are women who have refused to conform to societal expectations of what is considered appropriate for their age. They have embraced their individuality and used fashion as a form of self-expression and empowerment.

One such icon is Iris Apfel, who at 99 years old, continues to push the boundaries of fashion with her bold and eclectic style. Another is the legendary actress and singer, Cher, who at 74, still turns heads with her daring and glamorous outfits.

The key to style at any age is to stay true to your personal taste and dress in what makes you feel confident and comfortable. Don’t let age restrict you from experimenting with new trends or styles, but also don’t feel the need to conform to what is deemed acceptable by society.

Remember, age is just a number; style is forever. Embrace your individuality, have fun with fashion, and let your personality shine through your outfits.  After all, life is too short to worry about what others think.
