When life doesn’t go to plan, it’s natural to question the timing. We wonder if we’ve made a mistake, missed an opportunity, or even if God has forgotten us.
But what if the delay isn’t a rejection?
What if it’s preparation?
God’s Timing Is Different From Ours
We live in a world that expects everything immediately. We can order food in minutes, receive messages instantly, and access almost anything with the click of a button. Waiting has become something we’re taught to avoid.
Faith, however, teaches us something very different.
God isn’t bound by our schedules or deadlines. He sees the beginning and the end at the same time. While we can only see today’s circumstances, He sees the life He’s preparing us for tomorrow.
Sometimes what feels like a delay is actually divine protection.
Sometimes it’s preparation.
Sometimes it’s simply because God knows that what you’re asking for today would not serve the person you’re becoming tomorrow.
Waiting Doesn’t Mean God Isn’t Working

But silence doesn’t mean absence.

Just because you cannot see what God is doing doesn’t mean He isn’t working behind the scenes.

Waiting has a way of shaping our character in ways instant success never could.
It teaches us patience when we want control.
It strengthens our faith when we can’t see the outcome.
It reminds us that peace isn’t found in having all the answers but in trusting the One who does.
Many of life’s greatest blessings arrive only after we’ve become the person capable of receiving them.
Perhaps the person you’re becoming is more important than the thing you’re waiting for.
When Life Takes an Unexpected Turn
Very few people live the life they originally planned.
Unexpected illness.
Redundancy.
Heartbreak.
Loss.
Financial struggles.
Dreams that never happened.
Yet when we look back, many of us realise those painful moments redirected us towards something far greater than we could have imagined.
The road may have changed, but God’s purpose never did.
Sometimes closed doors are simply God guiding us towards a better path.
Trust Even When You Don’t Understand
Faith isn’t about understanding everything.
It’s about trusting Someone who understands everything.
There will be seasons when the answers don’t come.
When prayers seem unanswered.
When the future feels uncertain.
In those moments, we have a choice.
We can allow fear to take control…
Or we can choose faith.
Choosing faith doesn’t remove the uncertainty, but it replaces anxiety with hope.
Three Ways to Trust God’s Timing
1. Pray More Than You Worry
When anxious thoughts begin to take over, bring them to God. Prayer doesn’t always change our circumstances immediately, but it often changes our perspective.
2. Focus on Today’s Step
God rarely reveals the whole journey at once. Instead of worrying about the entire path, focus on being faithful with the next step in front of you.
3. Remember His Faithfulness
Take time to reflect on the times God has already carried you through difficult seasons. Looking back often gives us the confidence to trust Him with what’s ahead.

You are not forgotten.
You are not behind.
You are not being punished.
God’s timing is rarely early.
It is never late.
It is always purposeful.
The chapter you’re living today is not the whole story.
